On November 5, Century 21 Filer Realtors and Beach Cities West sponsored Jay Leno in a live performance to benefit Easter Seals Tri-Counties in Ventura, California, at the Cal Poly Christopher Cohen Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo. Proceeds from sponsorships, performance and raffle ticket sales totaled $108,000. Generous support came from many contributors with a lion’s share of the sponsorship funds donated by the Platinum Level Sponsors: First American Title Company and Fidelity National Title Company, each donating $10,000.

The November event opened with Master of Ceremony, Jack Hardy, followed by three speakers; Bob Moles, president and CEO of Cendant Real Estate Franchise Group, Van Davis, president and CEO of Century 21 Real Estate Corporation and Janet Napier, CEO and president of Easter Seals Tri-County. Presentations followed with two generations of parents and children who benefited from Lekotek services in San Obispo County; Cindy Price and son Evan, Sariah Price and son Spencer. Then the main event featured Leno who performed a stand-up comedy routine and drew the winning raffle ticket for a Harley Davidson 2003 1200 cc Custom Sportster 100 Year Anniversary Edition Motorcycle that he autographed.

This year, Century 21 planned a 17 percent increase in their efforts over 2002 and pledged to raise $3.5 million for Easter Seals. So far, they are proud to announce that their contributions are up 6 percent with future projections pointing towards the company exceeding their goal.

For more than 80 years, Easter Seals has been providing services that help children and adults with disabilities gain greater independence. Their primary services -- medical rehabilitation, job training and employment, inclusive child care, adult day services, and camping and recreation -- benefit more than 1 million individuals and their families each year through 450 centers nationwide.
