NAR Installs 2004 Leadership Team

(BUSINESS WIRE) Walter McDonald, a Realtor(R) from Riverside, Calif., was installed the 2004 president of the National Association of Realtors(R) at NAR's Board of Directors meeting today during the association's annual REALTORS(R) Conference & Expo here, Nov. 7-10.

McDonald is owner of Walt McDonald Real Estate, a single-office, independent firm specializing in property sales, leasing and lending. He holds the professional designations of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS(R)) and Graduate, REALTOR(R) Institute (GRI). From 1996 through 1998, he was a member of NAR's Executive Committee. In 1998, he also served as a Regional Vice President for NAR representing the states of California and Hawaii, and the territory of Guam. McDonald was president of the California Association of Realtors(R) in 1993.

Al Mansell of Midvale, Utah, a Realtor(R) since 1969, was installed the new president-elect. Mansell is CEO of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Salt Lake City. He served as president of the Utah Association of Realtors(R) in 1990 and was state "REALTOR(R) of the Year" in 1985. He is currently president of the Utah State Senate, an office he was elected to in 2000. He was elected to the state senate in 1994.

Thomas M. Stevens, a Realtor(R) from Vienna, Va., is NAR's first vice president. Stevens is president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and regional senior vice president of NRT Mid-Atlantic. He is a past president of the Virginia Association of REALTORS(R) and was named state "REALTOR(R) of the Year" in 1991.

Mike Brodie of Plano, Texas, is the 2004 as treasurer. Brodie is broker-owner of Keller Williams Realty, a residential real estate company in Plano and was president of the Texas Association of Realtors(R) in 1995.

Pat G. Kaplan of Portland, Ore., is vice president and liaison to committees after serving three years as NAR treasurer. Larry Von Feldt of Overland Park, Kan., is vice president and liaison to government affairs; he was chair of the REALTORS(R) Political Action Committee in 1997 and chair of RPAC Fundraising in 2002.

Brewer, Senatobia, Miss.; Region VI (Michigan and Ohio): Terry Hanker, Cincinnati; Regional VII (Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin): Joseph C. Traynor, Indianapolis; Region VIII (Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota): Ann Cichy, Fargo, N.D.; Region IX (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma): Margaret Barton, Ada, Okla.; Region X (Louisiana and Texas): Louise E. Hull, Victoria, Texas; Region XI (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming): John B. Harr Jr., Pleasant Grove, Utah; Region XII (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington): Gary D. Wright, Marysville, Wash.; and Region XIII (California, Hawaii and Guam): Gary Thomas, Aliso Viejo, Calif.
